Field Trip Day and Salt Art

Thursday morning the kids eagerly arrived, excited to start a new day of learning (and playing). We started the morning reviewing good manners and what good manners would look like on our field trip that day. After going over plans we excitingly hopped into the car to go on our first out of the house adventure!

Stephanie was our tour guide that day and did a fabulous job!
She started off showing the kids what types of foods they make and explaining what a bakery is.

Then the fun shifted behind the counter and the kids got to see her in action as she made banana bread and checked each ingredient off her list. The kids were fascinated at  how big the mixer was.

After banana bread we got to see them pull out fresh pumpkin bread from the oven and see how big it was inside! The smell was to die for!! Delicious!!

She then showed us a HUGE barrel of honey they use instead of sugar and then worked our way to the bread mixer. She turned on each machine for the kids so they could see how they run.

To end a perfect trip we got free samples of their yummy bread!
(I also caved and bought the pumpkin bread fresh and hot to share with the kids later)

The kids wrote thank you's to finish off the day and thank them for allowing us a great day:)

After we returned home we had enough time to do our Salt Mirror Art activity which the kids stayed an extra 30 minutes to continue they loved it so much!

(I home made the liquid water colors for this activity and they turned out amazing and vibrant)
