Apples and TP

Today we started off with learning our days of the week using the song from "The Adams Family." The kids learned how to simply do their best as they tried singing and snapping their fingers. By the time we were done they were having a glorious time!

After calendar and story time we learned "5 little Apples" using apple props and our bodies to sing this apple finger play and the kids LOVED it!

Here is the finger play:

FIVE little apples so red and bright,
were dancing about a tree one night,
The wind came rustling through the town,
One little apple came tumbling down!

FOUR little apples so red and bright,
were dancing about a tree one night,
The wind came rustling through the town,
One little apple came tumbling down!

THREE little apples so red and bright,
were dancing about a tree one night,
The wind came rustling through the town,
One little apple came tumbling down!

TWO little apples so red and bright,
were dancing about a tree one night,
The wind came rustling through the town,
One little apple came tumbling down!

ONE little apple so red and bright,
was dancing about a tree one night,
The wind came rustling through the town,
One little apple came tumbling down!

(We also added zero apples)

For our P.E. today we played Teacher May I and had a blast the whole time!

For Math we got to measure with Toilet Paper. After we measured different items we taped them to our wall to see the difference. This one of course is always a favorite.

In science today we cut open an apple, talked about where it came from, ate the apple and then used pictures to show the life cycle of an apple.
By the time we were done the kids decided we should use the apple seed from our apple to plant an apple tree and watch it grow. We will see what we can do with that in the next couple days.
