Today we got to finish off April with a field trip to see baby animals! The boys loved going place to place and seeing animals so little and cute, it was cold but we are so so grateful it was not dumping rain or snow! Perfect day to have amazing fun!
Children need opportunities to learn through active involvement. Opportunities to communicate through talking, listening and discovering with one another as they learn together and teach each other. The more involved children are as active learners, the greater connections they will make to the world around them.

Sensory In All We Do!
These activities were all ones that reminded me just how far I have come this year and reminds me why I love this curriculum so much!
A year ago today I would have been curling inside to see the boys jumping puddles and getting soaked in the morning. I would have cringed to see the amount of flour and rice all over my floor, clothes, counters, the boys clothes and then in the end across the house as they ran back to the living room (after being cleaned up) to head home. And I am pretty sure I just would have never let my kids poor dirt in a bottle to put worms in, lol.
It has been so liberating to say yes and let the boys learn in ways they might not get everyday or all the time, and I love the look on their faces as we do these activities. This is why I love my job so much!

Number Eggs and Shapes
Our math activities last week included counting with Easter eggs and learning more about shapes.
Our Easter egg activity included numbers on the bottom of the egg carton that matched the numbers on the Easter eggs, we then took those eggs and counted out the number of beads to match the number on the egg.
With our shapes this month we pulled out our dry erase books and played with shape patterns, traced the different shapes, and counted how many of each shape.
The boys really loved this activity and did not want to be done at all, so we played quite a while with the shapes :)
Animal Rescue Center
Last week the boys enjoyed playing with the Animal Rescue Center I set up. They used doctor kits to help keep the animals healthy, fed the animals, and gave the animals water to drink. I loved seeing them take different animals and care for them as they felt would make the animal all better. Their favorite ways to help their animals included giving the animals a shot, taking their temperature and listening to their heart beat.
