This month we having been learning a lot about hibernation and winter.
One of our kick off activities were making bear dens for a snack to go along with the books we read and will be reading during the month.
The boys also loved doing a little writing with dry erase markers. They were very meticulous in their work as they wanted to do a good job :)
Also, their favorite activity, cutting! They could not get enough and begged to take each piece home to show their proud work well done!
To demonstrate how animals stay warm in the winter we did a science/ sensory activity on blubber. For future reference I will remember next time NOT to do both hands! It is way hard to clean off and it would have worked better to compare the difference of their hands in the water.
Matching ABCs
In this activity the boys put the magnetic alphabet on the magnet board chalk letters. We did both upper and lower case letters!
Sparkely Number Formation
The boys learned how to write a few of their numbers while singing to the tune:
The wheels on the bus
Our goal is to focus on one or two numbers at a time while they are just starting out :)
Here is the song we are using from our book:
The
one on the bag goes all the way down, all the way down, all the way down. The
one on the bag goes all the way down. That’s how we make one!
The
two on the bag goes around and across, around and across, around and across.
The two on the bag goes around and across. That’s how we make two!
The
three on the bag goes around and around, around and around, around and around.
The three on the bag goes around and around. That’s how we make three!
The
four on the bag goes angle, across, and down, angle, across, and down, angle,
across, and down. The four on the bag goes angle, across, and down. That’s how
we make four!
The
five on the bag goes across, down and around, across, down and around, across,
down and around. The five on the bag goes across, down and around. That’s how
we make 5!
Indoor Snowmen
The boys enjoyed building snowmen with grated soap, toilet paper and water.
